Fully automated fluid management sounds appealing — but it places high demands on the measurement technology involved. Inline sensors are permanently exposed to contaminated coolant: metal particles, bacteria, oil and dirt gradually settle on sensor surfaces. The result: creeping measurement deviations, incorrect dosing and, in the worst case, undetected quality issues in the machining process.
There is a further challenge: does the system reliably detect when a sensor drifts and delivers incorrect values? In practice, this is one of the most common and hardest-to-diagnose failure modes of fully automated coolant systems.
